We are a couple, Dave and Eileen, in our late 50's. Dave has just retired as a Lab Technician, and Eileen is a dental
receptionist. We have raised 3 children, and now can dote on our 4 grandchildren. As "empty nesters", we are loving
this part of our life since it gives us the opportunity to visit and experience other parts of the world. We thoroughly
enjoy meeting new people, and love being immersed into the local culture of the places we visit.
We are situated in southern British Columbia, the most western province in Canada. We live in a small village in
the mountains called Fruitvale, but are considered almost a bedroom community of Trail. Within our close proximity
we also have the cities of Rossland, Castlegar, and Nelson.
We learned of Home Exchange through the Internet, and after some investigation, decided to give it a try. We have had two
major swaps, one in Spain in 2005 and one in Australia in 2008. Both were tremendously successful and we are hooked! We
would like to see other parts of the world and are open to any offers.
We have also discovered that home exchange doesn't have to be a long stay or a far away place! We have now done two
home exchanges in Vancouver where two of our children live with their families. This gives us a place to stay rather then
imposing on them, and also gives us a chance to have them over for an evening!
We are also very fortunate to be able to offer world class skiing due to our close proximity to Red Mountain Ski Resort.
With this in mind, we are open to anyone who would be interested in swapping their tropical location during the winter months.

We have a hot dry climate in summer, and a mild snowy winter. Our area is a virtual outdoorsman's paradise. Within
easy access to our home, you can find mountain trails for hiking, biking, beaches for swimming, rivers for kayaking or
canoeing, excellent golf courses, tennis, camping, and larger urban centers. Just a 25 minute drive through town is
a the Red Mountain Ski Resort. Within 4 hours drive you can be in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. For much more
information and pictures, check out the links at the left.
